Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005

This Act describes the broad framework of compulsory obligations and responsibilities on employers and employees in the workplace in Ireland. The Act obliges employers to do everything reasonably practicable to ensure the safety, welfare and health of their employees. - HSA

Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulation 2007

This Act gives specific information to employers and employees on: Use of Work Equipment, Personal Protective Equipment, Manual Handling of Loads, Display Screen Equipment, Electricity, Work at Height, Control of Noise at Work, Control of Vibration at Work, Protection of Children and Young Persons, Protection of Pregnant, Post Natal and Breastfeeding Employees, Night Work and Shift Work, Safety Signs at Places of Work, First-Aid, Explosive Atmospheres at Places of Work.

  • Follow procedures
  • Use machinery correctly/ Report defects

  • Attend training
  • Don’t endanger yourself or others
